When you think continually on the challenge you are experiencing, you create, fabricate, process or manufacture pain or displeasure, grief and worry. Unless you reproduce or process them in your mind, they have no influence or power over you.
Counseling is important to help patients modify or change behaviors that place them at risk of a relapse or contracting and spreading infectious diseases. But the exciting reality of the mind is that its contents and process can be managed. This means that the mind can be re-organized and re-programmed. The best and most excellent things of the human spirit are expressed through the mind.
Trichotillomania was only one symptom of her teenage angst, but unfortunately it was the most evident. A holistic approach to treating her mental anguish was infinitely more successful than any purposeful attempt to cure trichotillomania as a specific disorder.
Don’t process, fabricate or manufacture those negative feelings and emotions of worry, pain, anger, displeasure, grief or hurts, because you can chose to be joyful. Your joy is a wonderful strength that is expressed in singing, laughter, dancing, words of praise and loving harmony you have with families and friends when speaking positively about life. Refuse to dwell on the pain, displeasure, worry and all negative feelings and emotions.
